Avana Yoga is a traditional yoga school. Our teacher trainings are rooted in India’s classical yoga tradition and taught through its texts: the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Hatha Pradipika and the Bhagavad Gita, alongside anatomy, breath and the craft of teaching.
Every course is taught in person, in the UK and India, and accredited by Yoga Alliance.

What makes a training classical
Many trainings teach yoga mainly as movement. Ours treats asana as one part of a larger practice that includes breath, ethics, meditation and study. You learn what the postures are for, not only how to do them.
