India is where yoga began. Studying there, you learn the practice in the culture that shaped it, among people for whom it has never been a trend.

Our teacher training in India is the 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training: an advanced, Yoga Alliance accredited course for teachers who have already completed a 200-hour training. It is also taught in Chester, UK.

What you will study

  • Asana: revisiting the basics, the Avana Yoga sequence and creative sequencing
  • Anatomy: the individuality of the body, joints and hypermobility, and myofascia
  • Pranayama: daily advanced pranayama, kriyas and the three bandhas
  • Philosophy: the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and how to teach it
  • Meditation: classical, chakra-based and guided techniques

Who it is for

Graduates of a 200-hour yoga teacher training from a Yoga Alliance registered school, who are physically and mentally ready for intensive study and serious about their practice. You do not need to have trained with Avana Yoga.

Accreditation

Avana Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, and this is a Yoga Alliance registered 300-hour advanced training. Together with a 200-hour training, it counts towards the training requirement for RYT 500, subject to Yoga Alliance’s teaching-hour requirements.
